Graduation is a significant milestone in a young person’s life that deserves celebrating with joy and laughter as their accomplishments are complemented and acknowledged.  Whether one is celebrating a high school or a college graduate, planning a party will ensure that everyone has a fantastic time they will never forget.

Planning for a 2025 high school or college graduation celebration with no alcohol, a dinner, games, and festive decorations, and heartfelt speeches can be simple and truly special and memorable especially if you higher a coordinator.  It can be an enjoyable process as you try to involve your graduate with his or her wishes and ideas.

1. Set a Date and Venue
The first step in planning a graduation party is choosing the date and location. A countryside venue setting on a quite hill with beautiful skyline views with meadows, water, and big outdoor porches with lots of parking will make it a truly special place to celebrate your loved one’s milestone. Of course, we recommend our beautiful Bella Rosa Venue. Contact them on www.bellarosavenue.com to find an open date for the party and schedule a tour to see all the amenities and extra offerings. Here is a tip that will save you a lot of money: One can book a Sunday through Thursday evening or a Friday or Saturday morning breakfast hours and the cost is a lot less than reserving on a Friday evening or a Saturday. Scheduling breakfast on the day of graduation may be a good time for a high school graduation gathering. Otherwise, the rest of the day is already a very busy celebration. It’s a good idea to plan it close to the graduation either the day before or the day after so your out-of-town guests can attend both the graduation and the party. If you decide you want to host the celebration on a nearby weekend when more friends and family can attend, you will need to reserve your venue in advance and be prepared to pay considerably more for a Friday evening or a Saturday. Our outdoor spaces work well for incorporating fun games and outdoor activities.

Schedule a photographer for your special celebration.  Families can take their pictures together. Friends and classmates can pose together.  Don’t forget the little ones that are looking up to those graduates, because one day it will be their turn and you will look back and see how little and cute they were when the picture was taken in 2025. Having a photobooth is also a great way to make memories.

2. Create a Guest List and Invitations
Determine how many people you will invite by making a list of your immediate family and extended relatives, close friends, neighbors, classmates, and special favorite teachers and mentors. Remember always that people are not offended when they are invited, but they may be if they are not. An great and inexpensive way to send out graduation invitations well in advance is to make digital invites on Canva and send them via email with a request for the person’s updated postal service mail address for sending paper invitations later. The traditional paper graduation invitations have a classic touch and should arrive in the mail 3 weeks before graduation day. One should print the Canva invitation to the graduation party small, to fit 4 to a page and have them cut evenly to fit in the same graduation invitation envelope. Another great way to invite people to the party is to create a private event page on social media to invite, get RSVPs and keep guests updated.

3. Plan a Delicious Dinner Menu
A well-thought-out dinner is a highlight of any celebration. Whether you opt for a catered meal, a buffet, or a home-cooked feast, ensure there is a variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Include appetizers, main courses, sides, and desserts. Some popular options include grilled chicken, roasted pork loin, or roast dinner served with sides as rolls, vegetables, a green salad, and a graduation-themed cake for a sweet ending. One can set up a lemonade, tea, iced water, and coffee bar, and on a different table set up a nice charcuterie buffet for guests to enjoy as they mingle and visit while standing and greeting each other before the main meal is served. Some ideas for keeping the menu simple and inexpensive is having a Baked Potato Bar with all the trimmings, a Taco or Nacho Buffet with shredded meats, salsa, cheese, lettuce, and pico, an Italian Pasta Buffet with bread and an Olive Garden type salad.

4. Choose Fun Outdoor Games and Indoor

Activities
Outdoor games make the party engaging and enjoyable. Set up classic lawn games such as cornhole, giant Jenga, spike ball, ring toss, giant connect four, volleyball, or relays and gunny sack races. Having a mix of interactive activities ensures that guests of all ages stay entertained. For the little kids one can drape a short table with brown paper and set little chairs around for them to sit in and color.
You could also arrange a trivia game with 15 – 20 questions related to the graduate’s school years, hobbies, and future goals. Here is a start:
1. What is the graduate’s full name including middle name?
2. What is the graduate’s birthday?
3. What is the graduate’s zodiac sign?
4. The name of the school the graduate is graduating from.
5. What are their talents?
6. What was the graduate’s major or favorite subject?
7. What was graduate’s least favorite subject?
8. What extracurricular activities was the graduate involved in?
9. What sports did they play?
10. What musical instrument lessons did they have?
11. What are graduate’s hobbies?
12. What is the graduate’s favorite food?
13. What is the graduate’s go-to coffee order?
14. Who is the graduate’s favorite musician?
15. What is the graduate’s favorite color?
16. What was the graduate’s funniest school moment?
17. What was the graduate’s first job?
18. What was the graduate’s most embarrassing moment in school?
19. What was the graduate’s proudest school achievement?
20. What trip or vacation did the graduate enjoy the most?
21. What career does the graduate want to pursue?
22. Where does the graduate want to live in the future?
23. What is one big goal the graduate has after graduation?
24. What is the graduate’s dream job?
25. What is something on the graduate’s bucket list?

5. Decorate with 2025 Grad-Themed Décor

Make your party festive with 2025 themed graduation decorations. Use a color scheme that matches the graduate’s school colors or go for a stylish gold, silver, and black theme. Hang banners that say “Class of 2025,” set up a photo booth with fun props, and decorate tables with confetti, balloons, and flowers. Make a memory display on premium poster board that has 2 sides that bend out so it stands nicely on a table displaying photos and various awards from the graduate’s school years. Set out all their trophies earned on the same table.
6. Organize Heartfelt Speeches
One of the most meaningful aspects of a graduation party is hearing words of encouragement and appreciation for the student. Ask various friends and family members a month before the party to write out a small 1-minute speech about the student with a charge for their future. Ask the graduate to also prepare a speech to share their gratitude with the guests. Family members, friends, and the graduate themselves can go to the microphone and share memorable stories, lessons learned, or simply give advice.
It is important to hire a photographer or set up a DIY photo booth or simply encourage guests to take pictures and videos to share using a QR code that leads to a group site. You can create a hashtag for social media sharing or compile the best moments into a digital album. Having keepsakes from the event will allow the graduate to look back on the celebration for years to come.
